Joining your Local Library Will Save You Money

Growing up we went to our local library weekly.  Times have changed, and people don’t realize how much your local libraries have changed with the times.

Check out these Library Freebies

1.   Yes, they have books that you can check out!

2.   Free downloads of e-books, e-audiobooks, free movies, and free music.  That alone is worth the price of becoming a cardholder!  (The price is FREE!)

3.   Job Help Service.  This goes from resume building, possible interview questions and actual job listings.  (Even the Library wants you to make more money!!)

4.   Educational Resources.  There are a ton of resources available for your kids to help them with their homework, practice tests, etc.

5.   Genealogy Resources.  This is great if your trying to find out your family’s history and great to help if your child has a project to do on your family history.

6.   Computer/Internet Service.  At my library they have both laptops and desk tops to utilize.  It is available on a first come first serve basis and you are only allowed to use it for two hours per day.  Need something printed?  You can do that to for a nominal charge.  Just want to get away from the office and get some work done without all the interruptions?  Free Wi-Fi at the library!

7.   Kids Programs!  They still have Storytime during the day for those moms and dads that need to get out of the house.  Some of the story times have crafts involved too. They also have a Born to Read program for infants from birth to 18 months.  Pretty cool.

8.   Teen Programs.  Lots of things to help with homework, term papers and practice tests.  At my local library they also have this cool Lego Robotics Club for kids 9-14 that is basically an introduction to engineering and programming.

9.   Seniors in High School.  Tons of information to help with the college process.  From finding potential affordable colleges, to seeking financial aid to prepare for SAT tests, the local library has you covered.

10. Adult Programs.  A couple of times a week they offer something for adults.  It could be anything from learning how to use email, to learning about Pinterest, to knitting/crocheting, to watching movies at the library.

So, get up off the couch and go take the family and join your local library.  There are so many resources for your family that are free!
