Buy These Items in September to Save BIG Money!

Each month of the year retailers put certain products on sale to help clear their inventory to make room for new inventory.  In this week’s blog I, (@Michelethebargainqueen from savingmoneyandmakingmoney.com), will share with you what the best deals are for the month of September to help you save BIG money!

Here is the list of September savings that will save you BIG money this month!

Seasonal Items

Some of these items had started being reduced in August, but after Labor Day these items will be on clearance with up to 75% off!

School Supplies

Now that the rush is over, any school supplies that are leftover will be marked down for clearance.  They must go to make room for new inventory. (Great time to stock up for next year.) Check out my blog Where to Find the Cheapest Back-to-school Supplies for more ideas!

Clothing

Summer clothes on clearance, especially jeans and anything denim!

Mattresses

After Labor Day expect to find deep discounts on mattresses AND bedding.

Phones

New models are soon coming, so phone companies will sell older models at huge discounts to make room for the newer models.

Televisions

September is the best time to purchase television other than on Black Friday!

Cars

Prior to COVID-19, next years’ models will start hitting the market, so car dealers will lower prices on this past year’s models to get rid of any leftover inventory.

Airfare

With the kids back in school, people tend to travel less, making it more economical for you to take a trip!

Cruises

The cruise industry fills up in the summer and then thins out in the fall, which is also hurricane season.  They make their money not on the rooms, but on all the incidentals (excursions, drink packages, spa packages, etc.). Keep your eye out for over-the-top deals on rooms! Check out these deals!

Broadway Tickets

Did you know that every year in September, Broadway runs a special for a couple of weeks where you can get two tickets for the price of one ticket?! This year the special runs from September 6th- September 25th. Go to ticketmaster.com, type in Broadway Week and use the code BWAYWK for your discount on Aladdin, Beetlejuice, Lion King, MJ The Musical, Six or Wicked!

Produce

September is a big transitional month where it’s the last chance on finding summer produce and the first opportunity on fall foods.  Expect Aldi and Walmart to drop prices. (*Great tip: Perfect time to stock up on apples and make applesauce (can or freeze), dehydrate apples for snacks, or make holiday pies now! Just make the pie and freeze. Thaw and bake when needed.)
